Trading Recap – Selling Too Early Once Again

The Entry Points

There have been numerous lower quality stocks at the top of the biggest winners of the day. Today was no exception, and just like in July, it may be telling us something about the overall market. But daytrading is just what it says, and it’s just about focusing on the stocks which have the highest probability to have some tradeable moves for that day. ATOS was the big winner today. I’ll explain why the stock was a focus of mine, and how I once again sold way too early. Also discussed is a losing trade in PTIE, and entries into RDFN and AVEO. The RDFN trade was exited late in the day for a small profit.

Trader Scott has been involved with markets for over twenty years. Initially he was an individual floor trader and member of the Midwest Stock Exchange, which then led to a much better opportunity at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. By his early 30’s, he had become very successful in markets, but a health situation caused him to back away from the grind of being a full time floor trader. During this time away from markets, Scott was completely focused on educating himself about true overall health and natural healing which remains a passion to this day. Scott returned to markets over fifteen years ago where he continues as an independent trader.

  1. Is the market just going though earnings jitters before it goes happily on it way again?
Watching ADM and HMNY for an oversold bounce today.

  2. Thanks for the thought on the value of “parameters” room to take profits and still breath as the trade works.

enjoyed that you shared your “pain” for the day, I saw the 3 pushes and the entry point and also why you baled and took losses when it wasn’t “acting right” and pushed even lower….(even after you gave it a little room to run”-good lesson there.
